Rappahannock Countv has received $8,843 from the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, its share of $8,087,935 in second quarter ABC profits distributed statewide.
The county has also received $916 as its portion of second quarter wine liter tax revenue.
Two-thirds of ABC profits are distributed each quarter among Virginia’s counties, cities and towns on a per capita basis at the rate of $1.51. The remaining onethird of ABC revenue goes to the General Fund of the Commonwealth.
Under the wine liter tax, 22 percent of the total tax collected from the sale of wine is earmarked for distribution to counties and cities and 66 percent of the tax goes to the State General Fund with the remainder retained by the ABC
