The festivities surrounding St. Patrick’s day started with Irish veterans of the Revolutionary War in Boston. They organized a parade, and that has been the traditional form of celebration ever since. Nowadays, parades march in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Savannah, Atlanta and Chicago.
