R.F.R.A. Meeting Set
The Rappahannock Fire & Rescue Association will meet on Friday, July 16, at 7:30 p.m. at the Washington fire house. All members and interested persons are urged to attend.
“Funny Girl” In Rehearsal
Four County Players is now in rehearsal for Funny Girl, a show biz saga based on the early career of musical comedy star Fanny Brice. The play opens July 30 at the Barboursville Community Center.
Audiences will remember such show stoppers as “People”, “Dop’t Rain on My Parade”, and “I’m the Greatest Sta$”. — songs made famous by Barbra Streisand.
Performance dates are July 30-31, Aug. 1, 6-7, and 13-14. A touring show at the Central Place on The Mall in Charlottesville will be presented Aug. 20-21. Tickets are S5, students and seniors S3. For reservations or further information, call the Four County Players box office at 832-5355.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School will be held at Gid Brown Bible Church near Washington from July 19-23 each evening at Tp.m. Transportation can be arranged by calling the pastor, John K. Burke, Jr. at 675-3662. All area youngsters are invited to participate.
Hopewell Revival
Revival services will be held at Hopewell Baptist Church in Spercwille from July 19-23 each evening at 7:30. The Rev". Jonn R. Pendleton from Flint Hill will be guest speaker. On Sunday, July 25, Rev. Pendelton, his choir and congregation wftl be guests. Lunch will be served following the morning worship service. The public is 'invited.
Chester Gap Auction
The Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a benefit auction on Friday evening, July 16, begin .,ng at 6:30. All proceeds will benefit the fire department and the public is urged to support this event.
