Anniversary Celebration
The Macedonia Baptist Church in Flint Hill will be celebrating it's 117th anniversary on Sunday. July 18. Morning worship service will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James A. Price and at 3 p.m. the Rev. Carter Alsberry of Front Royal will be speaking.
A three night revival service will be held from July 14lb each evening at 7:30. Special speakers will be the Rev. George Dean from Front Royal on Wednesday evening. Rev. John Pendleton of Flint Hill on Thursday and Rev. Howard Frye. Huntly on Friday.
The public is invited to attend.
Special Services Meeting
Persons interested in services for those with special needs are invited to a meeting scheduled by Tim Breedlove, mental retardation specialist With the Rappahannock Mental Health Clinic. The informal coffee session will be held Tuesday, July 27, at 10 a.m. at Natures Foods Cafe in Washington. For further information, contact Sally Sharp at 6753219.
Free Conversation Classes
Beginning on Monday, July 19, free conversation classes in French and German will be held in the home of the Richard Bethune family in Front Royal.
French and German groups will meet separately for one hour beginning at 11 a.m.; the second hour from noon until 1 p.m. will be devoted to English conversation. Each group will be limited to ten participants with no~ age restrictions. Participants are asked to bring a bag lunch. Weekly classes are planned with the possibility of expansion to twice weekly classes if there is sufficient interest. Visiting the Bethunes for four weeks through the Association Europe exchange program are Ivan Bouchicot, Yvette France and Holger Klein of Wilnsdorf, Germany.
