The Wilder Factor
It is certainly true that Sen. Wilder was a factor in Pickett’s withdrawal from the race, but he was only one of many factors. Chief among these was the fact that, in spite of his manifest honesty and many personal talents. Del. Pickett repeatedly proved himself to be ineffectual as Candidate Pickett.
