Retired Senior Volunteer Program: The Retired Senior Volunteer Program organizes volunteer opportunities for older persons and then recruits people who need to stay active, to feel useful and wanted. The program also provides the necessary transportation, meals, etc. to enable older persons to work as volunteers in the schools, nursing homes, senior programs and charitable organizations in the community.
Home Weatherization: Home Weatherization services are available for lowincome home owners. Winterization includes installation of storm windows, weatherstripping and attic insulation.
Emergency Services: In the past, the Area Agency on Aging has maintained a small fund to help older persons in crisis situations w hen no other source of help is available.
The Voice of Experience: A newsletter containing information about programs and local concerns that affect the elderly, is distributed to 3.500 older people each month. The Area Agency currently has a volunteer editor for the Voice, and RSVP volunteers prepare the newsletter for mailing.
