Atkins
Ellis B. Atkins, 85, of Linden, died Tuesday, July 6, 1982, at Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal.
Funeral services were held Friday at the Little Chapel Church in Linden by the Rev. Landem Polk and Rev. William Burroughs. Burial was in the Atkins family cemetery in Linden.
Mr. Atkins was born November 19, 1896, in Rappahannock County, son of the late Basil and Anna Atkins. A retired farmer, he served in the U. S. Army during World War I.
He was the founder and a member of the Little Chapel Church and was a member of the Front Royal Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving with his widow, Connie V. Atkins, are four sons, James Atkins, Ellis Atkins and Ned Atkins, all of Linden, and Woodrow Atkins of Front Royal; three daughters, Connie Clatterbuck, Helen Kenney and Dorothy Sullivan, all of Linden; 23 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
