Robb's and the Democrats’ critics, the party has surrendered to liberal domination and is therefore no longer worthy of support by conservatives. Read liberal as black and the decoded real drift of the message becomes clear.
So what is Sen. Wilder’s actual role in the party and what is his relationship to the Robb administration?
There is no question that the flamboyant senator is a man of immense influence among Virginia’s one million or so black citizens.
Not only that, he is genuinely respected as a member of the state Senate where he is regarded as one of its best orators and debaters. Within the black community he is considered to be a political moderate, and may well be challenged in next year’s Senate primary by Richmond attorney Sa'ad El-Amin. a certifiable black maverick.
