The health department request slid painlessly from $75,000 to $28,000. Clerk Diane Bruce explained that the figure included in the first draft of the county’s 1983-84 budget had been relayed by a secretary over the telephone. The amount was off by $37,000, Bruce said, an error that was corrected when the health department’s written request was turned in this week.
