We went to Jamestown Festival Park and had our picnic lunch on a sunny spot of grass before beginning our tour. The Festival Park was created in 1957 for the 350th anniversary of the founding of the Jamestown Colony in 1607. Queen Elizabeth II attended the ceremony and bestowed the gift of the Old World Pavilion. There were wax figures and exhibits in the pavilion which explained our English heritage.
