Our schools and the taxes which support them are an investment. Like any investment they contain an element of risk. But this need not be frightening. It is reality and must be accepted and faced. Of course we strive for perfection and want all of our children to be successful. Everyone hopes for favorable returns on their investments. As in any endeavor based on human interaction, Mr. Eastham is completely correct in his charge, “We do not know and we can never kno»v.” We do hope and work and we can search together for returns on our investments.
