By THERESA REYNOLDS Rappahannock News Staff Writer Editor's note:

During the month of May, the Rappahatmock, News will feature a fourpart series o>i alcoholism; the nature of the disease, individual rase studies, co-alcoliolics and treatment.

Our choice of alcoholism as a topic during mental health mouth is intended to call attention to this major mental health problem of our time and to provide, perhaps, some hope to those who suffer in silence from this disease. We hope also to recognize the excellent work being done by the Rappaliannock Mental Health Clinic and in particular, to thank our advisors for this series, Lee Nettles and Bob Treanor.

There is a disease in our time causing more social and physical problems than any other; killing those who have it both slowly and violently; tormenting their families
