Vera Smith

Culpeper County Native

Mrs. Vera Ida Smith, 90, of Culpeper, died on Wednesday, April 27, 1983, at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.

A native of Culpeper County, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Henry and Henrietta Lindsay Settle and the widow of Jessie Lafayette Smith. She was a member of the Slate Mills Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Granville “Smith of Boston; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Carder of Culpeper and Mrs. Violet Dinkel of Winchester; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Lula Weaver of Warrenton.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday at the Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper by the Rev. Harold Eaton. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper.
