The Rappahannock Mental Health Clinic is one of five mental health facilities of the Rappahannock-Rapidan Communities Services Board and is located in Washington in the old Clopton House. In addition to two full-time therapists on the staff, the clinic offers the weekly services of a psychiatrist, a clinical psychologist and a mental retardation specialist.

The staff is involved in activities in the community and offer services to a wide variety of people: individual, marriage and family counseling; substance abuse therapy (drugs and alcohol) and substance abuse education; 24-hour telephone counseling; crisis intervention; support for the mentally retarded; and a wide range of family-issue workshops.
