rLL s Woodberry r orest meeting brought together 48 public and private school personnel, state officials, and PEC volunteers. Its purpose was to demonstrate current environmental education concepts—and the fact that such concepts do not require new curricula or additonl expense. Participants included public school superintendents, private school officials and elementary principals and teachers. They discussed the environmental components of Virginia’s new statewide “standards of learning," heard about state agency plans for “Project Learning Tree and "Project Wild," and experienced classroom and schoolyard techniques of teaching environmental concepts.
