In a ruling handed down last week, Circuit Court Judge Shore Robertson entered a permanent injunction against Potomac Edisor Power Company, finding that a right-of-way grantee in 1928 to its predecessoi utility did not give Pot Ed the authority to rebuild its line across property owned by Bill and Susan Cameron.
“We’ve had lots of support from the people of this community,” said Bill Cameron. “This wasn’t just Susan’s and my fight. The people of Rappahannock County had just as much to do with the outcome of the battle with the power company as we did. It’s a good thing that the people of this county stick together. My grandfather used to say, ‘You’ve got to tighten the traces and pull together. If you can’t do that, you can't do much.’ That’s what’s happened here.”
