The others looked the other way when kids spat or yelled. You can imagine what would happen if this were to go on today.”
Norwood moved away after graduation and recently returned to Rappahannock. “I know that things have changed a lot,” she said. “But this is how I remember what happened to me when I tried to go to school in Rappahannock.”
