Petitions for writs of mandamus and prohibition were served July 8 on Circuit Court Judge Thomas D. Home as part of the effort by the Rappahannock News to open the now-closed portions of the record in the case of Commonwealth v. Diane Elizabeth Kidwell.
In addition, the petitions and supporting memorandum were filed last Friday with the Virginia Supreme Court in Richmond by Peter H. Luke, attorney for Arundel Communications, Inc. (Arthur W.
