Those stopping by the historic Bower House on Washington Street in Middleburg may purchase a farm, get advice from an architect on remodeling the farmhouse, receive assistance in financing and even get their furniture and jewelry appraised, all in one visit. In addition they cah consult with an attorney, have a glass of tea in the garden and generally enjoy the beauty and historic charm of the gracious old home. “Once you walk through the door, we’ve got you,” joked Mary Scott Guest, who recently joined the expanded realty firm, Armfield Properties, and with other principal members of the firm, has purchased the home for use as an office building.
“We’ve been growing fast and furious ever since we began,” says Guest. “There were over a thousand people here just for our opening June 28. What I found most interesting was that all of our competitors came. What we’re doing is new and folks are interested.”
One of the new features of the expanded realty firm will be a super computer, one that Guest says will be a first for the area.
