Debbie Mills supervised while two dozen fifth, sixth and seventh graders went outside in teams to collect the natural objects with which their creatures were to be constructed. Just an hour later, Glooopom, Margie and all their acquaintances stood in rows on a table in the hall. Attached to their feet, wings or scales were sociological labels telling the name of each creature, where it lives, what it eats, how it moves and the names of its friends and enemies.
