The forestry consultant added that there is also a condition known as "white pine decline.” It’s not a particular disease but rather the interaction of several different things. "Particularly in wet weather, when trees are under greater stress, we see more deaths from ‘white pine decline. Trees are moke susceptible to fungus and root growth is slowed." Wood said.
