Friday night at 10:15 p.m., Wayne F. Baldwin of Washington was stopped in the eastbound lane of Route 211 at Gid Brown Hollow to make a turn onto Route 622 when his 1981 Chevrolet was struck in the rear by a 1971 Mercury operated by Adelaide Carter Ruffner of Front Royal. Neither vehicle sustained any significant damage and no charges were placed, according to Trooper Newlin.
John E. Hohl of Springfield was involved in a single car accident Saturday morning, June 16, on Route 211 at Old Hollow. He was westbound when he ran off the right side of the road, oversteered and veered back across the road into a field. His mother, Margaret Hohl, was taken to Culpeper Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Hohl’s 1981 twodoor Toyota had $2,000 worth of damage, according to Rappahannock Deputy John Henry Woodward.
A second rear end collision occurred Saturday at 12:15 p.m. on Route 522 near Chester Gap. Joel Clark of Flint Hill was southbound on the downgrade in his 1983 AMC fourdoor station wagon when he slowed due to a turning vehicle. His car was struck in the rear by Angela Jordan’s 1965 Oldsmobile. Jordan was charged with reckless driving, according to Trooper Moore. Her vehicle sustained $300 in damages; Clark’s $600.
Sidney Horner of Norfolk was taken to Culpeper Hospital for treatment of leg lacerations after his 1981 Harley Davidson motorcycle wrecked in a single vehicle
