To the editor:
Mrs. Fravel Partlow Blades of Venice, Florida, who was visiting relatives and friends in town on Saturday, furnished some additional information about the first telephone operator in Washington, Virginia.
She said that her grandmother, Mrs. William Fox, who was known as Mrs. Katie, was the first telephone operator.
The first telephone office was located in the house which is now owned by Mrs. Mattie Ball Fletcher on Main St.
