n.onunued from Page 1) Brown of Flint Hill were involved in a single car accident on Route 211 three miles east of Skyline Drive. According to State Trooper Harry Newlin, the driver of the 1976 Volkswagen appeared to have lost control of the vehicle and swerved back and forth across the road before running off the mountain.

Brown sustained only minor injuries; Swindler suffered severe facial lacerations. Both were taken to Luray hospital for treatment. Newlin reported that his investigation into the accident is continuing.

No charges were placed at the scene by Trooper Charles Moore in another single car accident Friday morning on Route 211 just east of Ben Venue. Hildegard Foerstemann was travelling eastbound when she lost control of her 1983 Toyota, reportedly while swatting at an insect in the car. She was taken to Fauquier Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The trooper estimated damage to the car at $1,000.

Moore went from Ben Venue to the opposite end of the county to check yet another single car accident two hours later. He reported that Victoria Kidwell of Boston was driving at a fairly low rate of speed on Route 522 when the steering mechanism on her 1980 GMC pickup truck went out. The truck struck a bank and turned over on its side. Kidwell, the only passenger in the vehicle, escaped without injury. The trooper noted that no charges were placed in the accident.
