“Have you lost some weight?” he said.
“No, I have simply shed my winter clothes,” she said.
It's true. For a few deceptively spring-like days during February, Rappahannock residents were able to leave behind bulky sweaters, leg warmers, overcoats and wooly caps.
They did yard work. They even turned over their gardens. They opened all the windows and let the living rooms air out; they set the house plants outside to stretch in the sun. And they Vazily did likewise.
It was a far warmer than ordinary February. Last Friday the thermometer hit an all-time record high of 71 in D.C.
