computer data includes listings in the heavily populated suburban neighborhoods of Northern Virginia as well as those in the more rural areas of Loudoun, Fauquier and now Rappahannock.
The common data base includes seven categories of property: single family residential, condominium, multi-family, vacant land, farm, residential rental and commercial. Member agents use common profile sheets, map books and grid reference descriptions when listing land. This will allow a uniform system and help save time. “It helps provide better service to our clients,” Batchelder said. “We want to get the property sold as quickly as possible for the best price.”
The sharing of computerized data by nearby neighboring boards of Realtors is a national trend, Batchelder explained, adding that he not only belongs to the huge new computerized listing service. He also shows property through the local Fauquier and Piedmont Multiple Listing Services based in Warrenton and Culpeper.
