The Panthers dominated in the early going, executing their offense with skill and drawing key fouls. They moved into the bonus category with 2:42 still to go in the first quarter as the Tigers picked up their fifth team foul.
But Rappahannock had its share of foul trouble too as starting point guard Jeff Porter was tagged with his third violation just a few seconds later with 2:26 left. But despite Porter’s errors, the Panthers coasted to an 11-8 lead at the end of the opening quarter.
