The March 6 deadline for declaring candidacy for Washington’s town elections is just a week away and we have only two official candidates as of Tuesday afternoon.
Peter Kramer, former mayor of the town, has filed for that office and William Wickens has submitted the required paperwork to nan for a council seat.
In addition. Brad Fisher, incumbent councilman and town treasurer, has said he will also seek re-election.
The rest of the incumbents, after serving terms that range from eight to :>4 years, are either still straddling the fence regarding their intentions or they’ve definitely decided to leave public office.
They’ve given freely of talents and energies, their efforts not always appreciated by neighbors w ho rarely even attend council meetings, much less take part in the work of guiding the town into the future. Now it's time for some new faces to take these volunteer jobs. The tasks are often
