“Anybody is invited to attend as guests,” says Nichols. He thinks the exposure will make them want to stay and help serve the community. Robert Estabrook sums up the sentiment of most members when he says it’s rewarding to feel he can be part of sponsoring those projects that help people with sight and hearing problems.
Also important to him are “the meetings themselves,” says Estabrook. “It’s a nice night out with the boys.”
The local club is experiencing a revival since it started in 1958 with 32 charter members, Nichols says. The number had dwindled down until there were only about nine charter members -
