World War I Veteran
Ray E. Boggs, age 90, of Amissville, died on Friday, February 17, 1984, at a Baltimore veterans hospital.
A disabled veteran of World War I, he had resided at Perry Point Veterans Hospital in Perryville, Md. for the past 30 years.
Survivors include a son, Bobby R. Boggs, Sr. of Culpeper, two daughters, Carney B. Courten of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and Ina E.B. Chapman of Annapolis; a stepson. Col. Victor W. White of Danville; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, Cornelius T. Boggs of West Virginia, Dennis I. Boggs of Boulder, Col. and Glen I. Boggs of California and one sister, Ona Meadows of Looneyville, W. Va.
Funeral services were held on February 22, at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Culpeper by the Rev. Joseph S. Stirman, Jr. Burial was in Culpeper National Cemetery.
