All proceeds from the race will benefit the Rappahannock Recreation Association which maintains the county park on Route 211 across the highway from Washington.
Other groups are also planning activities to coincide with the Fodderstack Classic. The Washington Baptist Church will hold its annual Spring Event with box lunches and other refreshments, plant sale and flea market. The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community (RAAC) intends to sponsor a pet show and tug-of-war contests between local fire departments. In addition, the shops and galleries of historic Washington will be open.
