“We have nothing further to report except (that we’ll) meet December 12 at 9 a.m. with landfill engineers, which will be in executive session.”
Richard Latham, chairman of the Board of Supervisors, made this annoucement on December 3 following an executive (private) session during the Board’s regular monthly meeting. During the executive session, the Board was briefed by Commonwealth’s Attorney Peter Luke as to where the county stands in regard to a 138-acre proposed landfill site located on Route 621 near Peyton Farm Estates.
The Board announced no plans to discontinue consideration of the proposed tract. In addition, the Board made no announcement concerning another possible location.
An alternate site was proposed for consideration during the meeting by Frank Reynolds, attorney for Concerned Citizens of Rappahannock County (CCRC). “We’re pleased that they gave us the time and attention.
