Attention 4-H’ers 13-19
“Summer-in-the Winter Festival” will be held at the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center February 1-3,1985. The theme is FAME (Four-H’ers Are Most Entertaining, Energetic, Enthusiastic, and Exciting).
The festival will begin on Friday evening, Feb. 1, with registration being held between 6:00 and 7:30 p.m. It wfll end at 11.00 am. on Sunday, Feb. 3. There are a lot of ftin things planned for the weekend. Call the Extension office to receive your schedule and plan to register by January 21. Tell friends! The cost for the weekend is $30.
Dance Concert To Be Held In Warrenton
Sally Nash and the Last Minute Wood Company will perform with Laura Crowne and Company in a benefit dance concert on December 8 at the St. James Parish Hall on Culpeper Street in Warrenton. The performance will begin at 8 p.m., and a donation of $5.00 is requested at the door.
Willow Grove Plantation Open
Willow Grove Plantation will be open to the public now through December 24 in order to raise fends for the Rappahannock BirMm Community Services Center.
A special “Plantation Christmas” tour allows visitors to view festive Christnias decorations and to learn the history of the tnymtifal ante-bellum estate. A craft room is open and contains crafts by in*—l Virginia residents. Some of the items on sale include: hand painted pottery, ceramics, stuffed animals, wooden items, toys, dolls, wreaths, ornaments and knick-knacks. Proceeds from the $2 admission fee and from craft sales are baby donated to the Community Services Center, which provides services for the aging, mental retardation development, mental nealth and substance abuse.
The plantation will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day through Christmas and is open until 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday evenings. Willow Grove Plantation ia located on Route 15two sailes north of Orange.
