Richard “Doug” and Becky Gore visited Ben and Tenny Mallory on Chester Gap last Sunday. The Mallorys, former Castleton residents whom all the neighbors still miss are eiyoying their life on the “Big Gap” with a great view. They all four took a drive to Winchester where they did some Christmas shopping, then back to Front Royal with a “refreshment stop” at K Mart. They had a good time!
Getting into that shopping spirit all right!! In fact, if it didn’t snow yesterday (Wednesday), the Gores went to Spotsylvania Mall in Fredericksburg to do some more shopping, this time with their son, Ricky and his wife, Beverly. It’s so much fun, shopping all together!
Frank and Doris Donald grabbed Doris’s “corn pudding” and bustled over to their daughter’s house for Thanksgiving dinner in Colesville, Maryland. Doris says it was quite an “international” occasion as they not only had their family members, Stephen, Margaret, Cathy, Cindy and Sara, but had guests who were students from the' University of Maryland, who were from Sicily, Iran and Syria and a Marine from Washington state and another person of ItalianIranian descent. It was truly a special dinner with peace and harmony for all. And guess what? Doris reports that seven month old, baby Sara took her first two steps!!UmmHumm!.Atrivederri, sweet family.
It wasn’t General Washington crossing the Delaware this time, but was Castleton’s Donalds, and Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Burner of Amissville on their way to Robert Priest, Jr’s wedding in Deptford, New Jersey. Yea, Robert of Amiss ville was married on November 24th to the lovely Margaret Ann Munns of New Jersey. They both graduated from V.P.I. this year and will reside in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He is a Civil Engineer, and she is a Biochemist. The wedding was held in a small, quaint chapel and the bride’s mother made her gorgeous gown. The elegant, dinner/dance reception waa held in Glassboro, New Jersey. They all had a smashing, good time as the reception went on and on and on.
Just 2 weeks and 3 days of shopping left tQ Christmas!! Don’t forget to make your lists, and take them with you! A real time saver!
