He said no houses were within one-half mile and the new road could avoid two landowners.
Soils were suitable, there were no rock outcroppings or major drainage problems; the property had a “willing seller” and would affect three or four homes within a mile, “I think,” Reynolds said.
Supervisor Hubert Gilkey III asked if an engineer had been on the property. “No,” Reynolds responded.
The Board accepted information on the site, and Chairman Latham thanked CCRC for the participation.
Other agenda items before the Board on December 3 were:
• Ag/Forestal District. An agricuiture/forestal district of 1,202.7 acres was approved by the Board following public hearing on the application.
A tag on of 481.4 acres submitted on the morning of the board’s meeting became the source of discussion. The tag on was made by Newbiil Miller of Washington.
Robert Eastham of Flint Hill expressed opposition to the creation of more agriculture-forestal districts. He was particularly concerned about this application and another one pending, he said, because both involve applicants that presently ate members of the Planning Commission, Miller, and Dr. Werner Krebser.
Eastham claimed conflict of interest on the part of Miller and Krebser.
Attorney Frank Reynolds said the attorney general already had decided whether this constituted a conflict in Greene County, where three members sit on the Planning Commission and two of the three wished to apply with
