The area proposed for future commercial development also ought to be expanded, she said, alluding to the 1980 Comprehensive Plan, which she said limits commercial development outside villages to an area on Route 211 between Washington and the Shade Road. Mrs. Early asked the planners to extend CV zoning on both sides of Route 211 in Amissville, from just above Route 611 to the County Line (Route 613). ... .Mrs. Early concluded her presenfcation by passing a petition on to the, joint board; She said 182 people who signed the petition agreed with her suggestions; 142 of them are landowners, she added.

Mrs. Early also asked the joint board to allow a show of hands for and against the petition proposed. It was granted and most attendees voted affirmatively. Said Planning Commissioner Newbill Miller, who expressed support for the proposal: “I’m sure the majority of what you’ve said is appropriate for this area.”

Mrs. Early’s comments led into another area: minimum lot sizes.
