Art and culture have come to Washington, Va. replacing the gathering places of Merrill’s Garage and Lea’s Store, and as residents of the dty move here I notice more and more articles in your paper geared to capturing the spirit of the then Washington, Va.
The change is irreversible, though, in a place where antique and craft shops are listed in the historical section, where commercialism abounds, and where the place is called Little Washington. I guess it’s really called progress and survival.
