Religious Rights
The call to allow churches by right was clarified - some. John Jenkins of Amissville said he wanted to see ‘ churches and church schools allowed by right or in some way other than by special-use permit. Added Ron Frazier of Amissville: “...the federal government will not restrict religious freedom...The Northwest Ordinance passed by Congress in 1787 states that i ‘churches and schools should be encouraged as being necessary to a free society.’ ”
