Southern Living Cooking Workshop
The Southern Living Cooking School workshop will be held in Charlottesville again this year on May 30. Several ladies in the area are interested in attending and if you would like to go, please call the Extension office at 675-3619, and leave your name and telephone number. Carpool groups will be leaving Rappahannock around 8:30 or 9 a.m. and should return in the early afternoon.
Psychology Of Religion Lecture
This year’s annual meeting of the Rappahannock Family Guidance Clinic will have as its guest speaker, Dr. Leigh Conver, Executive Director of the Valley Pastoral Counseling Center in Staunton, who will be lecturing on the topic, “Psychology of Religion.” The lecture will be held at the Trinity Episcopal Church parish hall in Washington on Wednesday, May 29 at 7 p.m. The public is invited.
Extension Homemakers Plan Trip
The Culpeper Extension Homemakers are going to Inner Harbor on June 4. The cost of the trip is $12.50 and check should be made payable to Culpeepr Extension Homemakers Council and send to: Brenda Olafsen, Extension Agent, 101 S-West Street, Culpeper, Va. 22701. Thev are meeting in the Culpeper County Parking Lot on Blue Ridge Avenue between Cameron and Edmundson Street at 7:30 a.m. on June 4 and plan to return by 8:30 p.m. For more information call the Culpeper Extension Office at 825-2233.
“Karate Kid”
On Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26 the story of a fatherless teenager who learns the wisdom and skills of karate from a Japanese handyman will be shown at 7:30 p.m. at the Gay Street Theater. The film is rated PG.
Graduation Time Changed
In an effort to try to beat the excessive late afternoon heat build-up in the RCHS gym, RCHS Principal Robert Chappell has announced that this year’s graduation will be held in the morning instead. The graduation ceremonies will be held in the RCHS gym at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 8.

Serving Food On Saturday
The Sperryville Ladies Auxiliary will be serving food at Faith Mountain, across from the Sperryville Post Office on Saturday and Sunday, May 25 and 26. All donations will be greatly appreciated and anyone with baked goods should contact President Cecil Baldwin at 987-8240.
