Christmas tree management will be the focus of the second stop at the Louis Nichols farm near Gilberts Corner in Loudoun County. Site selection and preparation, species choice, machine planting, vegetative control and marketing strategies will be discussed.
After lunch, tourists will visit the Branscome farm.
Wildlife will be the attraction at the final tour stop, Quail Call Farm. Several ponds regulated for waterfowl food production will be viewed. Woodland openings and vegetative control for optimum upland game bird habitats will be included.
The tour will end by 5 p.m.
A $14 registration fee is required by Tuesday, June 4. Space is limited.
