Dawson said that the studehts and teachers at RCHS have close relationships that make the high school a unique learning experience for all. “What is so good about Rappahannock High is the quality people here,” Dawson said. “When someone leaves, the kids lose more than just a quality teacher, they also lose a friend.”
He said that the students want to come to school, which is evident in the low absentee rate. “I definitely won’t forget the people here, and maybe I’ll come back and coach a team or play in the area this summer,” Dawson said. “I’ll miss the kids the most, though.”
Still, Dawson is looking forward to returning to college and majoring in sports management. He has not decided whether he will attend James Madison University or the University of Richmond. James Madison is the more likely choice of the two because his brother is a student there, he may have a chance to be a graduate assistant coach there and he thinks it would prepare him better for his future.
