The Area 9 Extension Homemakers held their annual meeting at the Northern Virginia 4-H Center in Front Royal on May 8. Area 9 includes Rappahannock, Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison and Orange counties.
Rappahannock County Extension clubs hosted the meeting, and Helen Guthrie, president of the Rappahannock’s Extension Council, welcomed the 177 club members. John Dooley, director of the center, outlined the summer programs offered at the facility including the senior citizen 4-H camp when 4-H’ers are counsellors and Camp Fantastic for children with cancer.
A 4-H ambassador from Rappahannock, Jim McCullough, spoke to the group on his experiences as a counsellor at Camp Fantastic. Julie Burke entertained the club members with a musical program.
