least one new supplier will be contributing eggs this year. From their place near Castleton, George and Martha Kidwell will be supplying eggs and a variety of vegetables.
Richard and Joyce Abell have joined the ranks of gardners offering organic produce for sale in Rappahannock. The Abell’s farm is a brand new operation, located off the Shade Road, which will produce a variety of vegetables including peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli, beets, parsley and garlic. Richard will also provide some baked goods, including his special peasant bread.
Chip and Terry Genther will also be growing vegetables, and Terry plans to sell her English muffins, granola bars, cheesecake and homemade pita bread. Why is she baking and gardening so energetically? “I epjoy eating,” was her reply.
Joyce Carter is another new baker. Her specialties include croissants, dill-onion rolls and those good chocolate chip cookies.
From her orchard in the town of Washington, Cecily Kohler will provide apples and cider. Rambo, Golden Delicious, Stayman and Yorks will be available this season.
Barbara Jolly is another new member. She is coordinating the baker-members and plans to contribute vegetables and her own baked goods.
