Don Dawson looks back over his past three years as a physical education teacher and varsity coach at RCHS with pride in accomplishments and warm feelings of friendship for students and teachers he has wrorked with. He said that he will take the good memories with him as he leaves Rappahannock to return to college and pursue his career goals.
At age 21, Dawson began his first full-time job as a teacher at Rappahannock High. He was surprised and gratified when he was asked to become the varsity coach for basketball and baseball. “It was good to start at a small school and be the varsity coach at that young age,” Dawson said. “I was really pleased when they asked me.”
