Somewhere between Washington* Virginia and Chicago, Illinois is a freefloating copy of a very popular film, “The Karate Kid.” It was supposed to arrive last Thursday for a showing at the Gay St. Theater. For the first time in RAACs two year history of showing movies each weekend, the movie did not show up.
Carol Miller of the Washington Post Office said the film company, Swank of Chicago, called her on Monday, May ‘20 to try to track down the Express Mail package. Efforts to unravel the mysterious disappearance of the film have proved fruitless. However, Swank has shipped another copy. “The Karate Kid” will be showm Saturday and Sunday, May 25 and 26 over Memorial Day weekend.
‘Carmen’ Also Rescheduled
The operatic film, Bizet’s “Carmen” has had its second scheduling problem. RAAC’s Film Committee booked it immediately upon learning that it was available in 16 mm. However, the film companies spoke too
