Weekend guests of Mrs. Clifford Miller were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Whitman of Norvell, Massachusetts.

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Lanham spent the past weekend in Williamsburg and attended the commencement exercises at William and Mary College, where their son, Glenn was a graduate.

Mother’s Day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Wood at “Dun-Lookin” was their daughter, Mrs. Gail Filyo of Wheaton, Md. Guests the previous weekend were Mrs. Stephen Filyo and Stephen Christopher of Rockville, Md.

Mrs. Mary Jenkins and Mr. and Mrs. Granville Smith were recent guests of Mrs. Nina Sisk in Speryville.

Mr. and Mrs. Neal Fridenstine were guests last weekend of Mr. and Mrs. D.G. Fridenstine and they all attended festivities at Randolph Macon Academy in Front Royal, where their son, David received the Air Force award for “Outstanding Student” and sister, Lynn was inducted into the Junior Honor Society.

Mrs. Cary Thornhill was honored on her 78th birthday on May 9 with a surprise party given at her home. Those helping her to celebrate were, Mrs. Leo Wood, Mrs. Patty Hicks and daughter, Michele of*Reva Park, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Penaranda, Mrs. George Butler, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Duncan and Mrs. George Butler.

Those gathering with Mr. and Mrs. Thornhill for Mother’s day were Miss Melanie Thornhill of Fairfax, Mr. and Mrs. C.G. Thornhill of Culpeper, Mrs. Faye Price and Jay of Reva, Gary Kopjanski, Delma Coates and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Thornhill.

This writer would like to thank those from our area for your prayers and all the calls of concern while I was in Fredericksburg last weekend and undergoing eye surgery at Willis Eye Clinic for cataract removal and lens implant on Tuesday. Sorry I was unable to get your news in on time.
