acted.” Another teacher, Don Bomberger, agreed that the walkout demonstrated support for teachers’ salary requests. “Whether it does any good or not remains to be seen,” Bomberger said.
Jim McCullough said that the walkout had not caused any direct results or answers, but that the news of what had happened at the school would have to be circulated. “When you go home, don’t let it end,” McCullough said. “Write your representatives and call the supervisors and the school board members. Stay strong in your beliefs and convinced that you’re doing the right thing.”
The students have since started a petition in the school and the county, and McCullough said that parents have begun calling and writing, too. “If we don’t get any kind of action, we’ll do it (a walkout) again,” McCullough said.
