Five humanitiescourses will be offered for the first time this summer on aji independent study/tutorial basis at Lord Fairfax Community College, according to James Markley, Arts and Sciences Division Chairman.
They include Creative Prose Writing, the first two quarters of American Literature and Interdisciplinary Humanities.
Creative Prose Writing will focus on an independent writing project of the student’s choice - a novel, a non-fiction book, or a series of related stories or articles.
American Literature I will cover significant American writers from 1620 through the Civil War. American Literature II will include significant American writers from Civil War to World War I.
Interdisciplinary Humanities I deals with critical thinking with a social science emphasis and Interdisciplinary •■Humanities II deals with values clarification with an emphasis on literature, philosophy and the arts.
Each of the five courses carries three quarter hours of credit.
