This concert marks the last performance of Ms. Crowne’s spring series in which she has already performed at The Dance Place in Washington, D.C. and at Gay Street Theatre in Washington, Va.
Alan Kriegsman, the head dance critic at The Washington Post, recently wrote that Ms. Crowne is “an able and appealing dancer of versatile resources.” The June 1 concert includes unusual and varied repertoire from Ms. Crowne’s own work as well as the work ofother choreographers.
The first two dances of the evening, “Solitude” and “Of Mere Reminiscence,” are solos choreographed by Laura Crowne and danced by Ms. Crowne and Ms. Taylor, respectively.
They will be followed by “Mother’s Solo,” a humorous piece choreographed by Rappahannock County choreographer Sally Nash and based on letters about cooking which Sally received from her mother. “Mother’s Solo” is an
