The Warrenton firemen’s carnival will swing into action Thursday for three nights of fun and games, plus a Saturday matinee for children.
A parade of more than 125 floats, fire trucks, bands and marching units will move off at 7 p.m. Friday, led by the Fauquier sheriffs department and the Fauquier High School band.
The Kena Temple Shriners of Alexandria will return with their big entry of colorfully caparisoned camel herders, mounted patrol, the Oriental Band and the Little 500 cars and motorcycles with their amazing maneuvers.
Fire and rescue equipment will come from as far afield as Charles Town, W. Va., Brunswick and Bethesda-Chevy Chase, Md., as well as around Virginia, to compete for the trophies on display this week at Carter’s Furniture Store.
